June 21, 2005 -- HazMat Management magazine is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN).

Starting with the August/September 2005 edition, HazMat will feature a special section on brownfields, the more than 30,000 contaminated or underutilized sites across Canada. The “Canadian Brownfields Chronicle” will include technical case studies on new and innovative remediation methods as well as analysis of legislation and policy regarding brownfield redevelopment. The articles will be written by leading experts in conjunction with HazMat’s award-winning writers and editors.

“This builds on our previous coverage of contaminated sites cleanup and the emerging brownfields industry,” says Connie Vitello, editor of HazMat. “Our readers will benefit from more in-depth, strategic information on how to navigate the complex terrain of brownfield redevelopment in Canada.”

The Canadian Brownfields Chronicle will be the most comprehensive information product of its kind. It will appear in HazMat's print publication, on the website (www.hazmatmag.com) and in its weekly e-newsletter.

“With more than 16 years as a leading environmental publication, HazMat Management Magazine will offer the CBN the opportunity to communicate brownfield issues, policies and progress to a much broader audience. In addition, our members will be able to provide content to the Canadian Brownfields Chronicle regarding industry updates and announcements,” says Angus Ross, Chair of the CBN Advisory Panel. “The magazine is an ideal media partner for the CBN.”

HazMat Management is a trade magazine for environmental professionals that is published six times a year.

The CBN is Canada's voice for brownfields redevelopment. It is a national network for brownfields practitioners and stakeholders. The mandate of the CBN is to raise awareness of the economic, environmental and social benefits of redevelopment, and to transform the market through outreach and capacity-building initiatives.
