Unplottable Records

Records marked with n/a are what the ERIS team term unplottable records.  According to the reasonably ascertainable clause of the CSA standard, any records that can not be confirmed to an absolute geographical location can be excluded from a report.  As such, the ERIS team pays personal attention to locating as much information as possible to a geographical location.  All obscured and buried address information is examined individually before a determination is made to include or exclude particular records from a report.  In cases where unplottable records are included in a report, there are a number of reasons.  For example, a record (i.e. a certificate of approval) may contain reference to a street that is contained with the buffer area of 250m from the subject property.  Furthermore, some n/a’s may match a company within the buffer area, but contain no address information to properly locate the site.  Those that do not contain a municipal address usually reference a company name to a Rural Route or P.O. Box address.  Cases exist where there could be the same company more than once within the same city/town so the record is left as n/a.  The ERIS team performs a high level of quality control to provide the level of accuracy required by our clients.
